International Interest in California Real Estate Still High

International buyers enjoy California real estate in general, but Southern California markets are witnessing increased interest. Out of the homes purchased last year by international buyers, 35 percent were seen in Los Angeles County, 22 percent in Orange County, and 14 percent in Riverside County.

The international community views the US government setup and our financial system as advantageous for their investments. They believe our government is stable, more so than in their home countries, and our financial system would guarantee their investments. Out of all the purchases, a high number of homes — 69 percent — were all-cash deals.

International buyers also value homes with heightened styles and modern amenities. The high-end amenities they seek include private beaches, putting greens, heated floors, and even outdoor kitchens. Homes with designer kitchens, wine cellars, and saunas were also on international buyer wish lists.
